Greetings
Region One Chapters,
I have no
excuse for being late with my chapter newsletters, other than just retiring from
50 years of government service Feb 25th, and all that went with that.
Anyhow,
because a few chapters have not updated their email address with CPOA HQ, So, I
have included several additional members that I hope will pass this info on to
their new chapter officers.
Thanks...
The Annual
Gross Receipts Report (an IRS requirement) was due to the National Office a few
days ago. For those Chapters that
have
Competed
this important legal requirement, thank you.
For those Chapters that have yet to put it in the mail, please do so this
week or as soon as possible. And
remember that the Chapter President needs to sign this report.
Region One Chapters that need to reply.
Cape Cod, Elizabeth City, Kleckner, Long Island, and Yorktown.
Please call/email me with any questions you may have about this
requirement.
The
National BOD is planning on meeting April 1-4, at CPOA HQ.
We have an agenda such as, membership, finances, convention, The CHIEF
and any other items you want us to review.
Please send me any suggestions you may have.
MEMBERSHIP
is the single most important issue that we face as an Association.
We need to constantly be recruiting new members, working to keep all the
members and helping the members keep the National Office up to date on their
information (meaning mailing address).
Also if you noticed in the Executive Directors most recent mailing under
the "New Members Allotment" section that many of these newest members have no
address listed. Please ensure that
when you are mailing in their application that it is fully and correct.
If the local Chief's Mess is doing it, then please engage with them and
let's do our best to do it right the first time please.
Allotments should be the preferred method of paying dues.
We lose too many Chiefs after the first year when they do not send in a
check for their membership dues renewal.
This year’s convention is in Daytona Beach FL, August 15-19.
We as an Association need every Chapter represented.
Even though every member attending can vote.
Convention is the time when we ensure that the business plan of the
Association is known to all the members, you get to give your National Officers
feedback, face to face. But you
need to have someone there to do it.
Please attend yourself as president or encourage your members to attend.
The
Captain Caliendo College Assistance Scholarship Program deadline has passed and
a total of 26 submissions were received.
With that we still have a great need for fund raising and donations to
support this vital CPOA program.
The CCCAF committee is now hard at work reading them all to select this year's
winner. Please review the attached
letters from the CCCAF chairmen.
Thank you
for your continued support of your CPOA.
Yours in
service,
Dave
